Dr Ingrid Hopper

MBBS, BMedSci (Hons), FRACP Ingrid is a consultant physician and sees patients with complex medical problems prior to surgery. She helps to plan your medical care at the time of surgery to minimise the risk of complications.

 

 Ingrid completed her medical degree at Monash University in 1999. She has worked in a variety of settings including Melbourne, Geelong, Darwin, Katherine, Newcastle, Myanmar and Kenya.

 Ingrid completed her physician training (FRACP) at the Austin and Alfred Hospitals, specialising in Clinical Pharmacology, which is the science of drugs and their clinical use. She has extensive experience in acute medicine, cardiovascular medicine, diabetes and aged care.

 An active researcher in her field, Ingrid is untertaking a PhD at the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash University. She has been awarded a prestigious NHMRC scholarship for her work on rationalising medications in patients with heart failure. She has published widely in the field of cardiovascular medicine and is known internationally for her work.

 Ingrid currently holds consultant appointments at both the Alfred and Northern Hospitals.
