Dr Kym Saunders

MBBS, BSc, FANZCA Dr Kym Saunders is a consultant anaesthetist with a special interest in urology and paediatric surgery

 

Kym has worked with Mr Conrad Bishop since 2005 in both the public and private sectors.

After completing a science degree at Monash University, Kym went on to graduate from medicine at The University of Melbourne in 2004, completing her residency at Geelong Hospital in 2007.  Her specialist training in Anaesthetics was undertaken with appointments at Geelong Hospital, The Alfred and Monash Health. Kym completed her fellowship year at The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.  She was granted Fellowship to the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2012.

Throughout her time as an anaesthetic trainee she was a representative on the Victorian Trainee Committee within ANZCA, and was Chair of this committee in 2011.  She was one of two trainees chosen from throughout Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore to be part of the Curriculum Redesign Steering Group, as the trainee voice in the development of the new trainee curriculum rolled out in 2013.  She continues to take an interest in trainee teaching in the private sector.  She also has participated in a surgical trip to the Solomon Islands, hoping to continue working in the developing world throughout her career.
